“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses…” Acts 1:8a
If it were possible to understand God, then the Holy Spirit would be the most challenging part of the three-part Godhead to understand. God the Father is pretty easy as the creator of the universe, and Jesus is easier to understand as our savior and redeemer.
But the Holy Spirit, who is that guy? Is he even a guy? Is he an it? Is he a she? A lot of times, it feels like the Holy Spirit is forgotten about too. In the Apostle’s Creed, there’s a paragraph for God and Jesus and not much left for the Holy Spirit.
In our new series, we will look at the three major roles of the Holy Spirit and become more attuned to the way the Spirit moves in our lives.
Join us for this three-part series called “The Source.”
Please note this week we will not have regular small group discussion as we will be traveling to Whitewater High School at 6:45 PM for Fields of Faith sponsored by Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We will return by 9:00 PM.
- What questions or assumptions do you have about the Holy Spirit?
- As Christians, we are not powerful ourselves but empowered by the Holy Spirit. Do you feel empowered?
- How would your life change as a more empowered person (remember our theme Bible verse)?
